What Is National Beta?

As the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, National Beta is dedicated to leading by serving others. Our four pillars are the perfect summation of the core of National Beta. The Beta community recognizes high academic achievement, rewards and nurtures worthy character, fosters leadership skills, and encourages service to others.
Being a Beta means being a part of a community of leaders who are positively impacting the world.

MVP Beta Club Constitution
Preamble: We, the members of the Mountain View Prep Beta Club, in order to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service, hereby establish this constitution for the purpose of governing our club.
Article I: Name The name of this organization shall be the Mountain View Prep Beta Club.
Article II: Purpose The purpose of the Beta Club is:

To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service.

To encourage students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.

To provide an avenue for community service and leadership development.

To create a supportive and positive environment for students who excel academically.
Article III: Membership

Eligibility: Membership shall be open to students in grades 7-12 who meet the following criteria:

Maintaining a minimum of an 85 in all core high school courses, and a minimum of a 75 in all college courses. .

Demonstration of good character and leadership.

Active participation in school or community service. 20 service hours per semester (40 total), excluding the first semester of existence, which will be 10 hours.

Selection: Students who meet the eligibility criteria shall be invited to join the Beta Club. Membership selection shall be based on the recommendation of teachers, academic performance, and involvement in service activities.

Dues: Members shall pay dues of: Junior (grades 7-8) - $30 • Senior (grades 9-12) - $40 annually to cover club activities, events, and materials.

Active Membership: Members are expected to participate in meetings, activities, and service projects. Failure to meet participation requirements may result in the suspension or revocation of membership.
Article IV: Officers

Officers: The officers of the Beta Club shall include:

President

Treasurer

Election of Officers: Officers shall be elected by the membership at the beginning of each school year. Elections shall be held by secret ballot.

Duties of Officers:

President: Presides over meetings, represents the club at school functions, and oversees all activities.

Vice President: Assists the president and assumes duties in the president’s absence.

Secretary: Keeps records of meetings, maintains a roster of members, and handles correspondence.

Treasurer: Manages the club’s finances, collects dues, and maintains a budget.

Article V: Meetings

Regular Meetings: The Beta Club shall hold regular meetings [Insert Frequency, e.g., once a month] during the school year.

Special Meetings: Special meetings may be called by the president or by a majority of the officers when necessary.

Quorum: A quorum for conducting business shall consist of at least [Insert Number or Percentage] of the active membership.
Article VI: Committees

Service Projects: The club shall form committees as needed to organize and oversee service projects and activities.

Ad-Hoc Committees: The president may form ad-hoc committees as necessary to support specific goals or events.
Article VII: Code of Conduct

Members of the Beta Club are expected to uphold the highest standards of character, integrity, and leadership at all times.

Disciplinary actions may be taken if a member violates the principles of the Beta Club, including suspension or expulsion from the club.
Article VIII: Amendments

Amendments to this constitution may be proposed by any active member and must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the active membership at a regular meeting.

Upon approval, the amendment will take effect immediately unless otherwise specified.
Article IX: Ratification This constitution shall be ratified by a majority vote of the founding members and shall take effect immediately upon ratification.
Article X: Enacting Clause
This constitution shall become effective upon arrival of the Club President, Club Faculty Advisor(s).

follows. “I have read, understand and agree to the contents of this document,” must be printed
above the signature.)
